About Us

Why We Exist:
Retro Game Garage was built on the happiness found in providing lasting experiences to those who enjoy, cherish, and value the games of our past. Every day, we strive to make your experience with us our #1 priority. We’re a small fish in a big pond, but use that to our advantage by providing you only the best in retro games and consoles. Each console or game that comes in is thoroughly tested, cleaned, and even given some playing time (this is the best part!!!) to ensure its 100% ready to go out the door. We’re here to help keep ”retro” games/consoles of all kinds in circulation for the years to come.

Why Trust Us:

Shopping online has become the norm in our world today, but that does not mean that you can trust every vendor, site, or even review in the digital existence. Our 60 day money back guarantee is for you, and you alone! There is no worse feeling than being scammed. Fake/reproduction games are rampant, and we take the highest precautions to not pass these onto you, our customer. What you see in our catalog is what you will 100% receive!

How Are We Different:

We approach your experience with us as if you were apart of our family. If you call/email us, you’ll speak with me directly, no off-shoring. All inventory/operations/sales are personally overseen by myself, and we take the upmost pride in the products you order. Your satisfaction is our goal, and anything less requires the highest degree of attention.

About Me:

My name is Nic, and I’m the owner and founder of Retro Game Garage. I was born and raised here in the Southwest Missouri area where we proudly operate today. My fondness of video games dates back to memories of playing Duck Hunt and Super Mario in the late 90’s with my brother on the family NES when I was around 3 years old. What a golden age of gaming that was! The NES could already be considered ”retro” by then, but that’s what got me started. You might say we grew with the generations of consoles over the next several years, owning every type of Nintendo, PlayStation, and Xbox that came out until even this day (sorry latest gens…still haven’t gotten to you yet!).

I attribute my love for video games to a few people. First being my older brother, Anthony. While he was seven years older than me, his ability to get down to my level and help me imagine a whole new world around me made video games our connecting point. It’s fair to say Final Fantasy 7 / Tactics, and Halo were my favorites to watch him play.

My childhood friend, David. Our time together hanging out on the weekends (and I mean almost every weekend) was spent playing the latest and greatest titles like Super Smash Bro’s on the Gamecube, the countless Forge hours in Halo 3, and the many attempts of Through the Fire and Flames (Expert) on Guitar Hero III. I cherish many of these memories to date.

My late friend, Wyatt. He was more of a gamer than even I was, but we spent hours upon hours together after school / on the weekends conquering Kino Der Toten on Zombies and bashing through Halo 3 on legendary. I still wish to this day we could’ve packed even more in, but I hold what memories we do have close to my heart.

Lastly, Christian (Mag), who shared many great late nights playing with me on Xbox Live from towns away. GTA, Halo, COD, I could go on. We still are very much in touch today and was one of the first people to hear about this new adventure!

I credit them individually, as each contributed in different ways to my love for games and lead me to where I am today.

I sincerely hope you find something enjoyable here in our store, and if not, please check back as our inventory changes.
